Sensitive Sunscreen SPF 50+
Our Sensitive Sunscreen SPF 50+ is a unique fragrance free, dermatologically tested, lightweight formula made from a combination of chemical filters. Our baby sunscreens are best suited for babies 6 months or older or the mums and dads with more delicate skin. It's not recommended to use chemical sunscreen on babies less than 6 months old, but if there is no other option, patch tests are necessary to figure out whether an irritation would occur. However! This particular formula is well-suited for use as a kids sunscreen.
To get the most out of our best sunscreen for babies and kids, it's important to apply sunscreen to all areas and avoid direct sunlight, especially during peak hours i.e. when the UV index is at its highest. This is usually between the hours of 10am and 4pm where the UV rays can penetrate deeper and cause skin damage. Sun protective, densely woven clothing and a wide-brimmed hat can also provide additional sun protection.
When applying baby and kids sunscreen, be sure to cover all exposed skin and reapply every two hours to dry skin, especially if swimming or sweating.
Our baby sunscreen offers perfect protection for your active little one’s skin, so don't hesitate to let them play in the sunshine!
The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends wearing sunscreen daily to protect against the sun's rays and UV radiation. So, when it comes to your baby’s sensitive skin, always choose the best baby sunscreen with broad spectrum protection. And don't forget, it's never too early to start teaching the importance of sun care to your kids.
Baby sunscreen - sun protection safety tips:
Protecting newborn skin
When taking a baby less than 6 months old outside, it is recommended to dress them in clothing such as wide-brimmed hats, lightweight cotton pants, and non-sheer long-sleeved shirts to provide protection from the sun and other environmental factors.
Creams or sprays?
When looking for sunscreen for your baby, you may find creams, sprays, and powders. Applying sunscreen as a cream can provide a more even and thorough coverage on the skin, ensuring that it is applied evenly.
Choosing a baby sunscreen
We advise that you use a baby zinc sunscreen or a mineral (physical) based formula for your young baby. Chemical sunscreen can sometimes be a little bit too harsh for their delicate skin. Remember to always patch test before applying all over.
From babies to beach babes, we’ve got you covered. Check out our great sunscreen for babies and kids.

Is there a difference between sunscreen and baby sunscreen?
Sunscreen is sunscreen. As long as you are getting an SPF 50 or higher it will for the most part protect you and your baby’s skin. The difference depends on what formulas the sunscreen is made of. Our formulas do differ from one another because they have different actives that protect from harmful UVA rays and UVB rays. For instance, our Mineral SPF 50+ is made from a Zinc Oxide active.
When looking at physical vs chemical sunscreen, this particular formula falls under the physical (mineral) category. On the other hand, Our Sensitive Sunscreen SPF 50+ and other body formulas are made up from chemical actives.
Can you put normal sunscreen on babies?
You are able to put any sunscreen on babies 6 months or older. However, it is best to be cautious of their delicate skin, hence why we have formulated our own baby sunscreen with fewer ingredients, aka less chance your baby will have an irritation.
What sunscreen levels should I use for babies and children?
Sun protection is super important for both you and your baby. We believe you can never be too careful and recommend applying a broad spectrum sunscreen SPF 50 or higher, especially if it's for your baby.
What if my child has a reaction?
It’s extremely important to do a patch test on your child before applying any new sunscreen. Our Sensitive Sunscreen SPF 50+ and Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50+ are both fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin. If a reaction still occurs, it’s best to see your family doctor or a paediatric dermatologist.
Can babies under 6 months wear sunscreen?
It is not recommended to apply sunscreen on babies under 6 months of age. This is because your baby’s skin is extremely delicate to most things that are put on it, including ingredients in sunscreen and other skin care products. However, for a baby under six months, sunburn is worse than a little sunscreen. When shade and clothing aren’t sufficient and you choose to introduce sunscreen, we recommend patch testing first to note any possible reactions.
What else can I do to protect my baby or child from the sun?
Sun protective clothing and long sleeves! Ensure your baby’s face, neck and ears are protected with a wide-brimmed hat and cover as much of their skin as possible. Seek shade and aim to minimize your time outside between 10am-4pm during the summer period when UV levels are their strongest. Apply a water resistant sunscreen when you and your baby are swimming and other protective clothing. Don’t forget how to apply sunscreen effectively.
Can I use sunscreen when pregnant?
Sunscreen which has been approved by the TGA is safe to use during pregnancy. All of our sunscreens are approved by the TGA. If you are worried, it’s advised to speak to your doctor.
